Teen Voices - Maurizio Andolfi
Teen Voices is a book about adolescents and it outlines their difficulty to be understood and listened by the adult world as well as their desire to be cared and appreciated.
A variety of young adults’ problems and disorders – violence and bullying, eating disorders and other pathological dependencies, depression and attempts of suicide – are described using a systemic/developmental lens.
Adopting a multigenerational approach it is possible to shift the focus from individual disorders and labels to the search of family and social resources. The adolescent can guide the therapist in his/her relational world in order to see intergenerational open wounds and to repair broken emotional bonds. The model of therapy presented in this book is experiential: therapist plays an active role, being direct, authentic, emphatic, able to attune to the clients’ pain and despair and to respond positively to their hope and desire to change. The aim of family therapy is to solve adolescents’ issues as well as to elicit deep family transformations. All prices include delivery within Malaysia only.
